Dr. Antonios C. Fountoulakis

Dr. Antonios C. Fountoulakis (b. 1969) is an Information Technology and Science teacher at secondary education and collaborating researcher at Hellenic Mediterranean University. He completed his undergraduate studies and his MScs at the Physics Dept. of the University of Crete in 1993 and 1996 respectively and his PHD at the Physics Dept. of the University of Patras in 2009. He was worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Patras (2009-2013). He is teaching I.T. and Science at secondary education schools in the prefecture of Heraklion since 1999 as a full-time schoolteacher and 4 years as headmaster. 

  His research interests are in quantum computers, quantum information, mainly in controlled electron dynamics in quantum dot and wells structures. He is also interested in educational technology and school leadership.

 Antonios Fountoulakis has more than 20 years of teaching experience as a part-time and full-time (3 years) lecturer at the Electrical and Computers Engineering department of Hellenic Mediterranean University (former TEI CRETE). He was headmaster at the 8th Gymnasium of Heraklion and the Lyceum of Archanes Crete.

Antonios Fountoulakis has co-authored 15 publications in peer review journals and has received more than 190 citations (h-index 8). He has given more than 20 oral presentations of his research results. He has participated in a lot of national and EU research projects and in 2 Erasmus school projects (1 as headmaster of the school and 1 as a local coordinator).
